The start of something beautiful…

Unibind is building, in partnership with Eneco and its subsidiary Air Energy, two wind turbines on the premises of its headquarters in Puurs. These 2 Enercon wind turbines of 2.3 MW each will be producing 10.2 GWh or the equivalent of the annual consumption of 3000 households. The locally generated renewable electricity will be used entirely by Unibind. This covers 75% of the full consumption of the headquarters. The project will be operational in July 2011.

About Eneco / Air Energy
Eneco is a green energy supplier active, from its offices in Mechelen (www.eneco.be) on the Belgian energy market for businesses. The branch is part of the Dutch energy company Eneco with over two million customers in the Netherlands. The company is transforming into a sustainable energy company, and will invest substantially in renewable energy in the coming years.

In 2008, Eneco acquired Air Energy (www.airenergy.be) to further expand its production of wind energy. Air Energy will account for the entire process, from project development to construction and operation. Since its founding, the group has built a solid reputation and became one of the industry leaders in Belgium.

The group has an installed capacity of 70MW in wind energy in Belgium and more than 250 MW (more than 200 wind turbines) within Europe. Moreover, there still are many projects under construction or in development.
